【摘要】:Thetestissuitableforsettingspecificationsonethylbenzeneandforuseasaninternalqualitycontroltoolwhereethylbenzeneisusedinmanufacturingprocesses.Itmaybeusedindevelopmentorresearchworkinvolvingethylbenzene.Purityiscommonlyreportedbysubtractingthedeterminedexpectedimpuritiesfrom100%.Absolutepuritycannotbedeterminedifunknownimpuritiesarepresent.1.1Thistestmethoddescribestheanalysisofnormallyoccurringimpuritiesin,andthepurityof,ethylbenzenebygaschromatography.Impuritiesdeterminedincludenonaromatichydrocarbons,benzene,toluene,xylenes,cumene,anddiethylbenzeneisomers.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicableforimpuritiesatconcentrationsfrom0.001to1.000%andforethylbenzenepuritiesof99%orhigher.Atthislevel,p-xylenemaynotbedetected.1.3Indeterminingtheperformanceofthetestresultsusingthismethodtoapplicablespecifications,resultsshallberoundedoffinaccordancewiththerounding-offmethodofPracticeE29.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecifichazardstatement,seeSection8.
