【摘要】:Thisguideisintendedtoassistusersandproducersofsoilmodifiers,andstabilizersintheevaluationofaproduct''spotentialforimprovingasoil''sengineeringproperties(suchasdeformationunderload,shearstrength,andvolumestability).Theresultsofthesetestscanbeusedtomakeadecisiontocontinueexperimentationtoassesslongevity,durability,andpracticalvalue,andestablishappropriateratesofapplicationforfieldtrials.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection,andthelike.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors.PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thisguidedescribeslaboratorytechniquesforevaluatingtheeffectivenessofadmixturesforimprovingtheengineeringpropertiesoffine-grainedsoils.1.2Effectivenessisassessedbycomparingtheunconfinedcompressivestrength(UCS),moisturesusceptibility,andmoisture-densityrelationships(MD)oftreatedanduntreatedsoils.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.5Thisguideoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Thewordx201C;Standardx201D;inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.
