【摘要】:1.1Thisconsumersafetyspecificationprovidessafetyrequirementsforvarioustypesofhomeplaygroundequipmentintendedforusebychildrenagedfromovereighteenmonthsthrough10years.Itfurtherprovidessuchrequirementsforswingsintendedspecificallyfortoddlers.Differentagelimitsforvariousrequirementsarefoundinthisspecification.Theselimitsreflectthenatureofthehazardsandtheexpectedmentalorphysicalability,orboth,ofthechildtocopewiththehazards.1.2Homeplaygroundequipmentisdefinedasanyproductinwhichthesupportstructureremainsstationarywhiletheactivityistakingplaceandisintendedforachildtoperformanyofthefollowingactivities:climbing,swinging,sliding,rocking,spinning,crawling,orcreeping,orcombinationthereof.Fitnessequipmentisspecificallyexcludedunlessattachedtotheplayequipment.Thisspecificationisnotintendedtoapplytojuvenilecareproductssuchas,butnotlimitedto,infantswings,playpens/enclosures,beds,orfurniture(includingoutdoorfurniture,suchaspicnictables,cradlerockers,activitycentersbeingusedaswalkersubstitutes,bouncers,jumpers,infantcarriers,andproductsspecificallydesignedfortherapeuticuse).Thisspecificationisnotintendedtoapplytoequipmenttobeusedinplacesofpublicassemblysuchasschools,nurseries,day-carecenters,andparks.Equipmentintendedtobeinchild-carecentersinprivatehomesisnotexemptfromtherequirementsofthisspecification.Suchcentersaredefinedassituationsinwhichthechild-careproviderdoesnotcareformorethansixchildrenundertheageoftenthatarenotresidinginthehouseholdofthecaregiver,andthetotalnumberofchildrenundertheageoftendoesnotexceedten,includingthecaregiver'sownchildren.1.3Methodsofidentifyingproductsthatcomplywiththisconsumersafetyspecificationaregiven.TheillustrationsofhomeplaygroundequipmentshowninFigs.A1.1-A1.4areforinformationalpurposesonlyandarenotintendedtolimitorendorsecertaintypesofplaygroundequipmentorequipmentfeatures.Theseillustrationsarenotintendedtolimitthevarietyorvariouscombinationsofequipmentthatarecoveredbythisconsumersafetyspecification.1.4Thepurposeofthisspecificationistoreducethelikelihoodoflife-threateningordebilitatinginjuries.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Iftoyaccessoriesortoychestsareattachedtohomeplaygroundequipment,theyareapplicabletothisconsumersafetyspecificationandtoanyotherapplicablesafetystandards.Note18212;Seeforfiguresreferencedthroughoutthisconsumersafetyperformancespecification.
