【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluateoxidationstabilityoflubricatingbaseoilswithadditivesinthepresenceofchemistriessimilartothosefoundingasolineengineservice.TestresultsonsomeASTMreferenceoilshavebeenfoundtocorrelatewithsequenceIIIDenginetestresultsinhoursfora375%viscosityincrease.Thetestdoesnotconstituteasubstituteforenginetesting,whichmeasureswear,oxidationstability,volatility,anddepositcontrolcharacteristicsoflubricants.Properlyinterpreted,thetestmayprovideinputontheoxidationstabilityoflubricantsundersimulatedenginechemistry.Thistestmethodisintendedtobeusedasabenchscreeningtestandqualitycontroltoolforlubricatingbaseoilmanufacturing,especiallyforre-refinedlubricatingbaseoils.Thistestmethodisusefulforqualitycontrolofoxidationstabilityofre-refinedoilsfrombatchtobatch.Thistestmethodisusefulforscreeningformulatedoilspriortoenginetests.Withinsimilaradditivechemistryandbaseoiltypes,therankingofoilsinthistestappearstobepredictiveofrankinginenginetests.Whenoilshavingcompletelydifferentadditivechemistryorbaseoiltypearecompared,oxidationstabilityresultsmaynotreflecttheactualenginetestresult.Otheroxidationstabilitytestmethodshavedemonstratedthatsolublemetalcatalystsuppliesareveryinconsistentandtheyhavesignificanteffectsonthetestresults.Thus,fortestcomparisons,thesamesourceandsamebatchofmetalnaphthenatesshallbeused.Note28212;Itisalsorecommendedasagoodresearchpracticenottousedifferentbatchesofthefuelcomponentintestcomparisons.1.1Thistestmethodevaluatestheoxidationstabilityofengineoilsforgasolineautomotiveengines.Thistest,runat160x00B0;C,utilizesahighpressurereactorpressurizedwithoxygenalongwithametalcatalystpackage,afuelcatalyst,andwaterinapartialsimulationoftheconditionstowhichanoilmaybesubjectedinagasolinecombustionengine.Thistestmethodcanbeusedforengineoilswithviscosityintherangefrom4mm2/s(cSt)to21mm2/s(cSt)at100x00B0;C,includingre-refinedoils.1.2Thistestmethodisnotasubstitutefortheenginetestingofanengineoilinestablishedenginetests,suchasSequenceIIID.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3.1Exception8212;Pressureunitsareprovidedinpsig,anddimensionsareprovidedininchesinAnnexA1,becausethesearetheindustryacceptedstandardandtheapparatusisbuiltaccordingtothefiguresshown.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificwarningstatements,seeSections7and8.
