【摘要】:Thesolubilityoforganicsisabasicphysicalparameterneededforthepredictionofthefateofachemicalintheenvironment(6).Theionicstrengthandorganiccontentofnaturalwatersmaycauseanapparentdecreaseorincreasefromthevalueobtainedinpurewater.Dataonthiscanbeobtainedinthelaboratorybymodifyingthereagentwatertosimulatenaturalwaters.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresformeasurementofthesolubilityoforganiccompoundsinwater.Threeproceduresaredescribedwhichwillworkoveravarietyofsolubilityranges.Theseproceduresarenotappropriateforcompoundsthatreactwithwaterorairatambientconditions.1.2Theprocedurechosenwilldependontheestimatedsolubilityofthecompound.Thismaybeobtainedfromliteraturevalues(seeRefs1,2,3)bycorrelationwithotherparameters(4)orbyanalogywiththesolubilityofsimilarcompounds.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
