【摘要】:Inprocessesproducingpropylene,COSusuallyremainswiththeC3hydrocarbonsandmustberemoved,sinceitaffectsproductquality.COSactsasapoisontocommercialpolymerizationcatalysts,resultingindeactivationandcostlyprocessdowntime.AccurategaschromatographicdeterminationoftraceCOSinpropyleneinvolvesuniqueanalyticalproblemsbecauseofthechemicalnatureofCOSandidiosyncraciesoftracelevelanalyses.TheseproblemsresultfromthereactiveandabsorptivenatureofCOS,thelowconcentrationlevelsbeingmeasured,thetypeofdetectorneeded,andtheinterferencesfromthepropylenesamplematrix.Thistestmethodaddressestheseanalyticalproblemsandwaystoproperlyhandlethemtoassureaccurateandpreciseanalyses.ThistestmethodprovidesabasisforagreementbetweentwolaboratorieswhenthedeterminationoftraceCOSinpropyleneisimportant.Thetestmethodpermitsseveralcalibrationtechniques.Forbestagreementbetweentwolabs,itisrecommendedthattheyusethesamecalibrationtechnique.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftracesofcarbonylsulfide(COS)inpropylene.ItisapplicabletoCOSconcentrationsfrom0.5to4.0mg/kg(partspermillionbymass).SeeNote1.Note18212;Thelowerlimitofthistestmethodisbelievedtobebelow0.1mg/kg,dependingonsamplesizeandsensitivityoftheinstrumentationbeingused.However,thecooperativetestingprogramwasconductedinthe0.5to4.0rangeduetolimitationsinpreparingcommercialtestmixtures.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsstatementsaregiveninSection8.
